Why Is Life So Difficult? (Colosians 1:24-29) Volt már olyan időszakod, amikor feltetted a kérdést: miért ilyen nehéz ez az egész? Miért nem változom gyorsabban? Was there a season in your life, when you asked the questions: Why is this whole thing so difficult? Why am I not changing faster? Why do I still struggle with the same things? What is God doing in my life at all? In this passage, Paul answers the following three questions: How should we view our struggles? What is God's real purpose with us? How does He work in us day by day?

A Two-Faced World Miért szeretjük a– még a legforróbb, legnehezebb napokon is? Egy várost, ami egyszerre gyönyörű és nyomasztó, élettel teli és mégis tele töréssel. Meglepő módon visszamegyünk egészen 1Mózes 49-hez, ahol Jákob megáldja a fiait – hogy jobban megértsük a társadalmunk működését, és azt, hogyan érheti el azt az evangélium reménysége. Why do we love the city - even on the hottest and most difficult days? A city that is both beautiful and oppressing, filled with life and brokeness at the same time. You walk on the banks of the Danube river, marvelling at the buildings and enjoying the summer evening… all the while having broken lives, visible and invisible pains all around you. We live in a dual reality. In this short teaching, we are looking for the answer to the question about how this world is built and how the illustrations and images of the Bible help us with that. Surprisingly, we go back all the way to Genesis chapter 49 where Jacob blesses his sons in order for us to get a better understanding of how our society works and how it could be reached by the hope of the gospel.

Can I be sure that I'll go to heaven? Keresztényként mennyire lehetünk biztosak az üdvösségünkben? Can we know with absolute certainty that we will go to heaven, or will that only become clear when God judges our lives? How should we interpret the fact that some passages of Scripture encourage us to have assurance of salvation, while others seem to warn that salvation can be lost?

Let me begin with a short story: Once, during a family lunch, a pastor asked a very simple yet profound question: “Who are you, and where are you going?” That question stayed with me because I realized that it is the central question of all our lives. Today, through the story of Joseph, we will explore this together: who we truly are, and where God is leading us.

Paul reminds us of where Christ has brought us out from: we once lived alienated from God and at odds with Him, but today we can have peace with Him through Jesus’ sacrifice. What does it truly mean to be reconciled with God, and how does this transform our present lives and our hope for eternity?

Would You Give up What Is Certain for Something Uncertain? Feladnál-e valami biztosat, ami nem jó, valami bizonytalanért, amit nem ismersz? Legyen szó munkahelyről, iskoláról, költözésről... This may refer to workplaces, schools, moving, etc. Jacob has to face this question at the end of his life when usually people are not so keen on trying new things...

Jesus Above All A Kolossébeliekhez írt levél egyik legcsodálatosabb szakaszában Pál felemeli a tekintetünket Krisztusra, hogy újra meglássuk, kicsoda Ő valójában. Jézus nem csupán része az életünknek, hanem a Teremtő, a Megváltó, a Gyülekezet Feje és mindenek felett való Úr. Vajon mekkora Jézus a szemünkben, és elfoglalta-e azt a helyet az életünkben, ami valóban megilleti? In one of the most wonderful passages of the Letter to the Colossians, Paul lifts our eyes to Christ that we might see Him again for who He really is. Jesus is not merely a part of our lives, but He is the Creator, the Savior, the Head of the Church and Lord over all. How great is Jesus in our eyes? Does He occupy the place in our lives that rightfully belongs to Him?
