Running Away From God Isten akarata elől nagyon sokféle okunk elfutni, van, hogy egész életünkben futunk előle, van hogy csak bizonyos területeken ahol feladatunk lenne. Jónás történetéből az a jó hír, hogy Isten gyorsabban fut mint ahogy mi, és az ő jósága utol fog érni minket. We have many reasons to run away from God's will, sometimes we do it all our lives, sometimes we do it only in certain areas where we have a job to do. The good news we find in the story of Jonah is that God runs faster than we do and His goodness is going to catch up with us.

Hungering and Thursting for the Truth Hogy reagálsz, ha igazságtalanság ér? Mit teszel, ha nem te vagy a célpont, de tanúja vagy, hogy valaki mást ér bántás? És milyen érzések jelennek meg benned, ha szembesülsz a világban lévő rendszerszintű igazságtalanságokkal? Jézus azt tanítja, hogy boldogok vagyunk, ha éhezünk és szomjazunk az igazságra. Vajon hogy jelenik ez meg a gyakorlatban az életünkben? How do you respond when you are treated unjustly? What do you do when you are not the target but you are a witness of someone else getting hurt? How do you feel when you face the systematic injustice in the world? Jesus teaches that we are blessed when we hunger and thurst for righteousness. How does this translate into practice in our lives?

In fact, salvation is not necessarily just for heaven alone, salvation is for right here right now as we live with God everyday. This is why Paul wrote; "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain." (Phil 1:21).

However, sometimes we substitute emotional experiences at the expense of truth. Both are essential to Christian growth and tonight we will see the importance that both truths teach as we look at Matthew 15:32-16:12.

Worship in Spirit and in Truth Jézus elmondta nekünk, hogy Isten egy bizonyos fajta imádót keres: olyan embert, aki Őt Szellemben és igazságban imádja. Azt mondta, hogy ilyenek az igazi istenimádók, és mivel Isten Szellem, imádói Szellemben és igazságban KELL, hogy imádják Őt. Ezek nagyon erős kijelentések! Jesus told us that God is looking for a certain kind of worshipper - one who worships in Spirit and in truth. He says these are the true worshippers and that because God is Spirit, His worshippers MUST worship in Spirit and in truth. These are strong statements!

To Give or Not to Give Egy lelkésztől hazafele menet egyszer kérdezte a taxisofőr hogy mivel foglalkozik. A lelkész elmondta a foglalkozását, majd erre a taxisofőr azt mondta hogy az a legjobb business, abba sok pénz van. És valóban, a keresztények rendszeresen adnak, de vajon miért teszik ezt? És Istennek valóban szüksége van az adományokra, vagy egészen másról szól ez az egész? A taxi driver once asked a pastor on his way home what his occupation was. The pastor told him what he did for living, then the taxi drive said it was the best business, there is a lot of money in it. Indeed, Christians do give regularly but why do they do it? Does God need the donations or is it about something totally different?
